OAK HARBOR, Ohio - A boil-water alert for the village was lifted early Thursday after the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency gave the all clear, authorities said.

The alert was terminated at 5 a.m., according to Oak Harbor police.

Until that time, the alert remained in effect after a broken water main on State Rt. 163 was fixed and normal service restored by 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The waterline, which was built in 1939, was damaged during planned maintenance Tuesday morning.
