Regional festivities mark holiday

Fireworks displays are planned across the region tonight.

Toledo's fireworks will be shot off from the International Park side of the Maumee River at 9:45 p.m. to conclude The Blade's Red, White, KABOOM celebration. The fireworks will be visible along the riverfront and be accompanied by music on WIOT-FM (104.7).

Other Fourth of July festivities in the region include:

Adrian: July Third and Fourth Celebration at the Lenawee County Fair and Event Grounds with vendors and events. Today's events begin at 9 a.m., fireworks at dark; admission $2. Camping is available. Parade, 10 a.m. today, starting from the corner of West Maumee and Greenly streets.

Bowling Green: Fireworks tonight at dusk at the Bowling Green State University intramural fields, Alumni and Mercer roads. Preceded by BG Area Community Band at BGSU's Doyt Perry Stadium at 8 p.m. Rain date is tomorrow.

Bryan: Kiwanis Club Fly-in breakfast, 7 to 11 a.m. today at the Williams County Airport. Plane rides offered.

Dundee: Parade, 11 a.m. today, starting at Dundee High School.

Fremont: Parade, 5 p.m., today from Birchard Park area on Croghan Street to the entrance of Rodger Young Park. Fireworks at dusk, Rodger Young Park. Free Toledo Symphony Concert Band at Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center at 2 p.m.; croquet contests and clinics through tomorrow.

Findlay: Festivities begin at 5 p.m. today with fireworks at dark, Hancock County Fairgrounds. Rain date is tomorrow.

Luna Pier: Fireworks at dusk today, over the pier. Also city-wide garage sale, food vendors in First Street Park.

Maumee: "I Love America" celebration starts at 6 p.m., fireworks at 10 p.m. tonight at the Church on Strayer, 3000 Strayer Rd. Free.

Perrysburg: The Fort Meigs State Memorial will celebrate Independence Day 1813 today and tomorrow with cannon firings, demonstrations, music, and a living history encampment. Eighteen-gun national salute at 2 p.m. today. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. today and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow. Adult admission is $9, $5 for students, $1 for Ohio Historical Society members, and free for kids 5 and younger.

Napoleon: Fireworks, 10 p.m. tonight at Glenwood Park. Preceded by the Napoleon Community Band at 8 p.m. and events throughout the day.

Port Clinton: Parade, 3 p.m. today, starting at Port Clinton High School. Ice cream social at 4 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church. "Adams Street Experience," 4:15 p.m., at Adams Street gazebo. Other festivities at Waterworks Park starting at 6 p.m. and fireworks at 10 p.m.

Put-in-Bay: Fireworks tonight at dark, over the downtown harbor. Tomorrow, Central Ohio Symphony at Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial visitors' center, 6 p.m., free.

Sandusky: Stars and Stripes Celebration with food and music, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in Washington Park. Fireworks at 10 p.m., best viewed from the waterfront, courtesy of Cedar Point.

Tiffin: Fireworks at dusk tonight, Hedges-Boyer Park.

Wauseon: Fireworks at dusk tonight, with best viewing from Wauseon High School football field. Rain date is tomorrow.

Woodville: Celebration at Trailmarker Park with music, rides, and more, with parade starting at the park at 1 p.m. and fireworks at 10 p.m. Rain date is tomorrow.
