Motorcyclist hurt in Erie County crash

SANDUSKY - A motorcyclist was injured in a crash early Saturday on Maple Avenue north of State Rt. 101 in Erie County's Margaretta Township.

Edward R. Hallier, 44, of 5820 Tiffin Ave., Castalia, Ohio, was in fair condition in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, where he was flown from Belle-

vue Hospital, according to the Sandusky Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Troopers said they learned at

1:44 a.m. that an injured man was dropped off at Bellevue Hospital by family members. Investigators found the damaged motorcycle in the garage of Mr. Hallier's residence. Family members said they did not know where the crash occurred.

Troopers found debris on Maple and determined that Mr. Hallier had driven off the roadway and overturned. Mr. Hallier, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered head injuries in the crash, troopers said.
