Pedestrian killed in Monroe hit-and-run accident
7/9/2009MONROE - A Monroe woman was killed Thursday morning when she was hit by a vehicle while walking along North Dixie Highway, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said.
Diane Susan Norris, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene about 4:40 a.m., sheriff's deputies said.
Ms. Norris was walking on the east shoulder of the highway north of Baycrest Drive in Monroe County's Frenchtown Township when she was struck by an unknown vehicle that left the scene.
A sheriff's deputy noticed broken glass scattered on the roadway and found Ms. Norris lying in the grass off the shoulder.
