Arrest made in beating death of elderly man
7/15/2009TIFFIN A suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of an elderly man during a robbery in his home near Green Springs, Ohio, in November, the Seneca County Sheriff s Office said.
Erica Rowe, 22, was arrested in Erie County today and is accused of taking part in the Nov. 2 robbery and fatal beating of Frank Rios, 80, in his Thompson Township home on County Road 62. Mr. Rios wife, Bette, 69, was seriously hurt during the robbery. Both were beaten with a baseball bat, deputies said.
Ms. Rowe is being held without bond in the Seneca County jail on charges of complicity to murder, complicity to felonious assault, complicity to aggravated burglary, and complicity to aggravated robbery.
A sheriff s spokesman said more information would be released tomorrow.
