VAN WERT - A Van Wert teenager has been charged with vandalizing Continental High School in Putnam County.

David W. Maxwell III, 18, was arrested Monday and charged with vandalism. Continental Police said three intruders entered the high school July 15 and destroyed several computers, damaged classrooms, and stole several items. School officials estimated damage to the computer lab at more than $100,000.

Police said they recovered some of the stolen items during a search of the Van Wert home of Ryan Wells, 18, and plan to present a case against him to a Putnam County grand jury in August.
