Man pulled from Devils Lake identified
7/27/2009MANITOU BEACH, Mich. - The body pulled from Devils Lake Sunday night has been identified as a Detroit area man.
Richard Joseph Luczak, 34, of Romulus, Mich., was recovered from the lake in
northwest Lenawee County within an hour of reports of boaters overboard, according to the sheriff's office.
The man he was with on the pontoon boat, Charles Dudonis, 34, of Romulus, had swam to shore in the 5200 block of Parkwood Drive in Lenawee County's Woodstock Township and called for help about 6:30 p.m.
A helicopter assisting in the search located Mr. Luczak about 50 minutes
later, deputies said.
Neither man was wearing a life jacket, deputies said.
