Boy struck by pickup truck identified

Authorities have released the name of an 8-year-old boy who was struck by a pickup truck while riding a bicycle the day before on Worden Road near South Coy Road in Oregon.

Dalton Lawyer of College Station, Texas, was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Oregon police said. He was listed in critical condition Friday, a hospital spokesman said.

The boy was struck about 6:30 p.m. Thursday when he rode into the path of the truck while exiting a driveway from the south side of Worden.

The truck was driven by Keith Neubert, 43, of Maumee, who was eastbound on Worden, officers said.

Mr. Neubert was not hurt in the crash. He was not cited, police said.
