8/1/2009

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about a man with two large knives who robbed a South Toledo coin laundry of an undisclosed amount of money.

The robber walked into the Coin Op Laundry, 3115 Airport Hwy., shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday, displayed the knives, and demanded money from the business owner, who was emptying the laundry machines of cash, police said.

After the business owner complied, the robber fled on foot through a parking lot to the Byrneport apartment complex on Byrneport Drive.

The robber is described as black or Hispanic, in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a red hooded jacket, blue jeans, and a dark blue, knit ski mask.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Toledo Crime Stopper program.
