Men accused of robbery held on $150,000 bonds

Two Toledo men accused of robbing a manager for Original Gino s Pizza restaurant pleaded not guilty to robbery charges in Lucas County Common Pleas Court yesterday.

Hassan S. Hassan, 35, was charged with one count each of aggravated robbery and felonious assault. John Mattoni, 48, was charged with one count of complicity in the commission of aggravated robbery.

Judge Linda Jennings set September trial dates for both men and ordered them held on $150,000 bonds.

Police said Mr. Hassan robbed and slashed Jason Filas with a sharp weapon as he walked to his car July 20 from the restaurant at 3981 Monroe St. Mr. Filas did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
