Two motorists were hurt around 5 a.m. Friday when two cars, one of which was traveling the wrong way, crashed head-on on I-280 in Lake Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Sharron Jones, 64, of Toledo, the driver who was going the wrong way, was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, troopers at the patrol's Toledo post said. She was admitted to the hospital, where her condition was unavailable Friday morning, according to a hospital spokesman.

John Panuto, 39, whose driver's license carries a Tiffin address, was taken to Bay Park Community Hospital, Oregon, according to the patrol. A hospital spokesman said Friday morning she had no information about a person by that name.

Ms. Jones was southbound on northbound I-280 just south of State Rt. 795 about 5 a.m. when the two cars collided, the troopers said.

Ms. Jones had gotten on the expressway from the Greenbelt Parkway entrance ramp and had traveled about 10 miles on the expressway before the crash. She was cited for driving the wrong way on a divided highway, according to the patrol.

The crash remained under investigation.
