Toledo police say this car was involved in a West Toledo shooting death.

Toledo police Friday released a picture of a car they say was involved in a West Toledo shooting death in July, in the hope it will make it easier for the public to help identify an assailant in the incident, authorities said.

Police said Rogelio Carlin-Espinosa, 34, of 1217 Vanderbilt Drive, was found shot about 6:10 a.m. Tuesday near his pickup, which he apparently was about to get into when he was slain. Mr. Carlin-Espinosa was an acquaintance of Richard Soria, who was shot and killed May 3 on Congress Street in South Toledo.

Mr. Carlin-Espinosa was pronounced dead at the University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly the Medical College of Ohio.

Mr. Soria, 47, of 659 Congress St. suffered multiple gunshot wounds shortly after returning from church about 12:12 p.m., police said.

Authorities are still looking for a man they believe is tied to the slaying of Mr. Soria. Witnesses told Toledo police they saw the man flee the scene in a black, shiny sport utility vehicle that had chrome rims, officers said. Police initially called him a person of interest.
