Man arrested in death of South Toledo resident

A suspect was arrested Thursday in connection with the beating death of a man in South Toledo June 11.

Aaron Jones, 20, is charged with the murder of Jeffrey Patterson, 49, who was found beaten to death at the entrance to the ByrneHill Mobile Home Park, 3601 Hill Ave.

Mr. Patterson, of the 3700 block of Hill, was walking home from the nearby Sunoco gas station at Hill and Byrne Road, where he bought a six-pack of beer at about 12:30 a.m.

Officers made the arrest after receiving information that they said directly implicated Mr. Jones in the crime.
