2 area firms get grants to cut diesel emissions

An Archbold company, a Delphos, Ohio, company, and the Ohio Department of Transportation have been awarded federal stimulus grants to help reduce diesel emissions.

Miller Bros. Construction Inc., of Archbold is to receive $155,678 to allow diesel construction equipment engines to operate more cleanly, while T.R.O. Inc. of Delphos is to receive $237,750 to pay for auxiliary power units for long-haul trucks, the Ohio Department of Development announced.

The two firms are among 12 public and private entities in Ohio that will share $4.9 million in funds. The state transportation department is getting $641,541 for particulate filters for construction equipment.
