BOWLING GREEN — Two Sandusky men and two juveniles were arrested by Bowling Green State University campus police after allegedly trying to pass a phony $20 bill so they could buy gas to drive home.

Wyatt Estep, 19, and Colton Means, 18, were taken to the Wood County jail on charges of complicity to forgery and contributing to the unruliness or delinquency of a child.

BGSU Police Lt. David Weekley said a campus police officer noticed the group approach students outside the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday, seeking change for the counterfeit $20. The suspects reportedly told police later they had printed about 12 fake $20 bills from a computer.

Lieutenant Weekley said the Toledo office of the Secret Service was contacted.

Mr. Estep and Mr. Means were arraigned yesterday in Bowling Green Municipal Court. Bond was set at $10,000, with a preliminary hearing set for Monday. The juveniles, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, were taken to the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center.
