SANDUSKY — A Sandusky teen died yesterday in Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center, a day after he was hit by a car while inline skating in Erie County's Perkins Township.

A medical center spokesman said Michael Gisondi, 13, died shortly after noon. He was westbound on Strub Road just east of Campbell Street about 7:45 p.m. Monday, as was a car driven by Deborah Lane, 58, of Castalia, Ohio, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

The boy was skating in the westbound lane and wearing dark clothing, troopers said. The car tried to swerve and brake but struck him. Troopers are investigating.
