2 arraigned in murder of Toledoan

Samantha Stewart, 19, of 2326 Genesee St., and Chad Irbey, 27, of no known address, were charged with murder in the death of Kevin E. Dunklin, 43, of 1020 Pinewood Ave. They were ordered held in the Lucas County jail - each in lieu of a $ 500,000 bond at no 10 percent - pending a preliminary hearing on Oct. 8. The pair turned themselves in Wednesday night.

Ms. Stewart and Mr. Irbey showed no emotion during the arraignment. Family members for Ms. Stewart refused to comment after she was taken from the courtroom.

Dunklin was found dead Sept. 24 in an alley in the 4200 block of Burnham Avenue. He was dead at the scene, shot multiple times, Toledo police said.

He was the city's 20th murder victim this year, which was the total for all of last year.
