Man, 72, killed in Sandusky County crash

BURGOON, Ohio - A 72-year-old Helena, Ohio man was killed when the minivan he was driving crashed late Wednesday in Sandusky County, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Rollind Wells, who was thrown from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 11:35 p.m. crash, troopers at the patrol's Fremont post said.

Mr. Wells was westbound on County Road 41 when he drove off the south side of the road. The vehicle then struck a traffic sign and a culvert and overturned, the troopers said.

He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the patrol.

Burgoon is about 30 miles southeast of Toledo.
