FOSTORIA — Three people were arrested yesterday as Fostoria police's directed patrol unit conducted “saturation patrols” in the city.

Chief John McGuire said between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 3 a.m. yesterday, officers concentrated their focus on areas where police have investigated numerous reports of crime.

Arrested were Rachael M. Johnson, 31, of Fostoria, who was charged with burglary, tampering with evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia; Duncan E. Haughawout, 50, of Fostoria, who was charged with possession of marijuana, and a 16-year-old girl who was charged with drunken driving and making an improper turn.

The chief urged residents to continue to watch their neighborhoods and report criminal activity to police or an anonymous tip line, 419-435-4957.
