BOWLING GREEN — A Bowling Green State University student has been charged with rape in connection with a sexual assault in a residence hall early Saturday.

Terrence B. Flowers, 19, of Cleveland was arraigned yesterday in Bowling Green Municipal Court by video from the Wood County jail. Judge Mark Reddin issued a protection order for the victim and set bond at $75,000, which Mr. Flowers posted.

BGSU police said a woman student reported Saturday evening she'd been assaulted in her room in Bromfield Hall about 5 that morning. Mr. Flowers, who was arrested by campus police Monday night, lives in Bromfield and knew the victim, police said.

A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 14 in municipal court.
