A Toledo man who stabbed his former girlfriend and her friend after breaking into her home pleaded to several charges in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Andrew Chance, 37, of 2717 Summit St. pleaded no contest Tuesday to one count of burglary and two of felonious assault. He faces up to 24 years in prison when sentenced Oct. 20 by Judge Frederick McDonald.

Chance went to the Upton Avenue apartment of Antonya Stigall, 28, at 9 a.m. June 6, authorities said. After she told him to leave, he kicked in the door and began stabbing her and David Thompson, 28, with a small knife.

Chance was arrested later that morning after he returned home to shower and dispose of his bloody clothing.
