Former President Bill Clinton will be in Sylvania Township in January to raise money for Democratic Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland's re-election campaign next year.

Mr. Clinton will be the guest at an evening fund-raiser at the home of E.J. and Elizabeth Leizerman on Jan. 5, said Jerry Chabler, chairman of Mr. Strickland's finance committee.

Mr. Chabler declined to predict how much will be raised in the two-hour fund-raiser. “It'll be a successful event,” he said.

Ticket prices range from $1,000 for general admission to $5,000 to be an “event chair,” which includes a private reception and photo with the former president. The maximum contribution an individual can make to a candidate is $11,395.

Competing for the Republican nomination for governor are former Ohio U.S. Rep. John Kasich (R., Westerville) and state Sen. Kevin Coughlin (R., Cuyahoga Falls).
