One of two men, who police said were identified in a video depicting a violent shootout in a West Toledo bar, turned himself in, was booked in the Lucas County jail, and then released after posting a $5,000 bond yesterday.

Meanwhile, the bar where the shooting occurred, the Route 66 Kitchen, will remain closed until Dec. 7, city officials said yesterday. The bar's owner agreed to the closing pending a hearing in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Lashon Sawyer, 38, of 2012 Balkan Place, who was a cook in the bar, was arrested at the Safety Building downtown about 10:35 a.m. and booked into the jail about an hour later. By noon, he was released after posting the bond through a bondsman, according to jail records.

Mr. Sawyer, who has no criminal record, is charged with discharging a firearm in the city limits, a misdemeanor, and with having a firearm in a liquor permit premises, a felony. His preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 6. Police are continuing to work at identifying others who were involved, Toledo police Sgt. Phil Toney said yesterday.

Marquese Robbins, 32, whose last known address was 1103 Norwood Ave., was charged with four counts of felonious assault for allegedly firing a gun in Route 66. A known member of the Lucas County Gang, or LCG, Robbins has an extensive criminal record dating to 1998, police said.
