  • Toledo police have identified the man who was fatally shot and found inside a vehicle in West Toledo on Friday morning.

Ysidro Mora, 21, of 310 South Eber Rd., Swanton was located in his pickup truck that was lodged against a tree about 5:50 a.m. at Kingsmoor Drive and Eastbrook Drive, about four blocks south of Elmhurst Elementary School.

As a result of the shooting, three West Toledo schools were locked down Friday morning. Police have no suspects at this time.

Deveaux Junior High School, Elmhurst Elementary School, and Start High School were on lock-down after the shooting, said Sherry Kest, communication assistant at Toledo Public Schools.

Toledo police responding to a call of an injury accident about 5:50 a.m. found the victim shot and killed. They are investigating the case as a homicide.

Officers went door-to-door asking neighbors in the 3000 block of Eastbrook what they might have heard or seen.

After police left the scene and the truck was removed shortly after 8 a.m., several neighbors gathered by the tree where it was found. The truck and the tree appeared intact.

One of the neighbors reported hearing at least five sounds that sounded like a tire popping in front of his home about four houses down the street from the tree where the truck — a maroon late-model pickup with Ohio license plates — rolled to a stop.

Earlier Friday morning police were looking for a man described as being about 19 years old, about five feet and four inches tall. He was wearing a camouflage reversible jacket with orange lining and baggy pants, police said.
