BOWLING GREEN — Wood County commissioners voted 3-0 yesterday to authorize the Northwestern Water and Sewer District to use up to $4.7 million in Recovery Zone Economic Development bonds for a project in Troy Township.

Wood County is eligible to access more than $8.8 million in the bonds to help finance public projects.

Under the federal program, government agencies that finance a project with the bonds would be refunded 45 percent of the annual interest on the bonds.

The water and sewer district, the first entity to apply for the funding, is installing water and sewer lines to the Dominion Energy site in Troy Township to create a ready-to-build industrial site.

The Ohio Department of Development is paying a third of the $7.2 million cost through its Ohio Jobs Ready Sites Program.
