Wood County judge seeks park board members

10/28/2009

BOWLING GREEN — With the decision last week to expand the Wood County Park District's board of commissioners from three to five, Probate Judge David Woessner is looking for residents interested in serving on the board.

Judge Woessner, who by state law appoints the members of the board, is asking that county residents interested in the appointment submit a letter of interest and resume or other pertinent information to his office at the courthouse by Nov. 18. The terms are to begin Jan. 1.

On Oct. 19, park commissioners voted 2-1 to increase the size of the board following criticism over their decision earlier this year to grant double-digit raises to some employees. The board rescinded the raises, then hired a consultant to look at wages in similar-sized park districts.
