Woman shot in stomach in East Toledo

A woman was shot in the stomach in East Toledo early Thursday, Toledo police said.

Yvonne Wagner, 27, of the 1600 block of North Erie St., was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo police said. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.

Ms. Wagner was found about 2:40 a.m. at Greenwood Avenue and Potter Street near Oak Street and Starr Avenue, according to the Toledo Fire Department.

Ms. Wagner was getting in her car when she was shot once in the stomach, Toledo police Sgt. Phil Toney said. Her car was later found abandoned in a parking lot at 531 Oak, police said.
