Oregon administrator resigns for Mentor post

Oregon City Administrator Ken Filipiak has resigned to become the city manager of Mentor, Ohio.

Mr. Filipiak has been Oregon's administrator for 10 years. His resignation takes effect Nov. 28. Paul Roman, the city's public service director, will take over the administrator's job on an interim basis.

Mayor Marge Brown said Mr. Filipiak “has done an excellent job.” Mayor Brown said the city soon will begin advertising for his replacement.

Mr. Filipiak was paid $103,000 annually. Mentor councilmen unanimously agreed to hire him Oct. 24.
