Penta Career Center is getting an $18,705 state grant to help provide equipment and materials to high school upperclassmen who want to learn more about green energy.

The grant was one of 10 statewide for a total of $350,000 being issued by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. It also will support a weeklong day camp in 2010 and 2011 for 100 students in seventh through ninth grades who are interested in green energy.

Penta Career Center serves Fulton, Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Wood counties. It is collaborating with area nonprofits and colleges on the project.
