Some area dentists are offering children money to pass on Halloween sweets, and will collect their surplus candy to send to U.S. troops overseas.
The buyback is "an effort to help the parents get rid of the candy that the kids really don't need," said Kelly Mahlman, a dental hygienist for pediatric dentists Drs. Stephen Pero and Michael Glinka in Maumee.
