Anthony Wayne Schools out of state supervision

12/15/2009

Anthony Wayne Schools were released Monday from the supervision of the Ohio Department of Education as a district in a “state of fiscal caution.”

The school district was placed on fiscal caution in 2007, when five-year budget forecasts showed a potential shortfall. A performance audit by the Ohio State Auditor's Office in November, 2006, predicted a deficit of $1.2 million in June, 2007, and $4.5 million in June, 2008.

With a budget now projected to remain in the black for the next three years, Anthony Wayne no longer must submit to audits, Superintendent John Granger said.
