Aid sought for daughter of soldier serving in Iraq

FINDLAY — The volunteer leaders of the Hancock County Red Cross Armed Forces Family Network seek donations to help the daughter of an Army National Guardsman deployed in Iraq.

Emily Clark, 12, a sixth-grader at McComb Elementary, has arthrogryposis, a congenital disorder. She uses a wheelchair and undergoes weekly physical therapy. Her family wants to get a Nu Step exercise bike that would allow her get a cardio workout at home.

With the help of Michael Young, a volunteer with the Armed Forces Family Network, the manufacturer agreed to lower the price to $3,495.

Donations to the Emily Clark Benefit Account may be made at any Fifth Third Bank location. Checks should be made out to “Michael Young for Emily Clark.”
