Common Pleas judges elect Jensen to preside

1/6/2010

Judge James Jensen will serve as the Lucas County Common Pleas Court's presiding judge for a one-year term.

Judge Jensen was chosen by a vote of all Common Pleas Court judges. The Common Pleas Court is made up of four divisions: domestic relations, general trial, juvenile, and probate.

The presiding judge handles all affidavits of disqualifications against a municipal court judge, assigns judges to serve temporarily in another division of the court, and conducts an annual meeting of the judges.

Also elected was Judge Gary Cook to serve as the 2010 administrative judge for the general trial division. He will be responsible for all aspects of the operation of the court and for compliance with all rules set forth by the Ohio Supreme Court.
