ARCHBOLD - A Napoleon man known for saying, "It's not what you make; it is what you do with what you make," left what he made to Northwest State Community College.

College officials announced Wednesday that Francis O. Fackler had bequeathed more than $2.9 million to the college for scholarships for students who are from Henry County.

The donation was the largest received in the 40-year history of the college, which primarily serves students from Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, and Williams counties.

Mr. Fackler, a carpenter and real estate entrepreneur, died last May at the age of 94. He and his late wife, Charlien Elvin, had no children.
