This solar roof on a carport, the first product made by ShadePlex LLC of Toledo, is shown off in a parking area next to the Maumee headquarters of the Lathrop Co. A fabric used with the panels is to improve its electricity generation. ShadePlex hopes to sell the product, which it displayed Friday, to dome and tent makers.
