Toledo Catholic Diocese has $255,886 for Haiti

1/30/2010

The Catholic Diocese of Toledo reports that it has raised $255,886 so far for earthquake-ravaged Haiti with less than half of its parishes submitting their collections.

Bishop Leonard Blair said he was “very happy” with the result. “The people in our diocese have a tremendous track record when it comes to responding to those in need overseas.”

About 45 percent of the 128 parishes in the 19-county diocese have submitted their Haiti relief collections. The funds will go to Catholic Relief Services, the official international relief and development agency of the Catholic community in the United States.
