Bowling Green woman who robbed bank given early release

2/10/2010

BOWLING GREEN - Wood County Common Pleas Judge Robert Pollex agreed yesterday to early release from prison for a Bowling Green woman who took part in a 2007 bank robbery.

Marijane Tripp, 22, was granted judicial release after serving about 16 months of a four-year sentence. She pleaded guilty in 2008 to robbery, arson, unlawful possession or use of a hoax weapon of mass destruction, and tampering with evidence stemming from a Nov. 9, 2007, holdup of the Huntington Bank branch on South Main Street.

As part of her release from prison, Tripp was placed on community control sanctions for three years, which included orders to complete 300 hours of community service, pay a $500 fine, complete a substance-abuse evaluation and recommendations, consume no alcohol or drugs, and have no contact with her co-defendant, Joel Westfall, or with Huntington Bank.
