North Toledo carryout, clerk charged with food-stamp fraud

A North Toledo store clerk has been arrested on charges of illegal use of food stamps and telecommunications fraud, authorities said yesterday.

Rami M. Ahmed, 21, a clerk at Pic & Go Market, 810 Galena St., was arrested Jan. 29 and put in federal custody. He was also wanted by immigration authorities, according to the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

The business was cited on four counts each of illegal use of a food stamp card and trafficking in food stamp cards. It also was cited on one count of illegal possession of a food stamp card.
