ROMULUS, Mich. — A northwest Ohio man was arraigned yesterday on a misdemeanor charge of resisting and obstructing police in an incident at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

Authorities say Kalyan Policherla of Bryan, Ohio, walked through a screening checkpoint without a boarding pass, then ignored officers who ordered him to stop. Police subdued him while a portion of the terminal was evacuated, causing some flight delays. A preliminary examination was scheduled for Feb. 24.

The 27-year-old also faces a federal charge of violating air commerce security laws.
