1 killed, 1 injured in snowmobile crash

A Temperance man was killed and a Temperance woman was injured in a snowmobile crash Friday night near Douglas and Consear roads in Bedford Township, authorities said Saturday.

Joshua Brennan, 24, the snowmobile driver, was taken to Toledo Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said.

Mr. Brennan's passenger, Rachel Yeupell, 22, also was taken to Toledo Hospital, where she was in stable condition, Monroe County deputies said.

The accident occurred about 10:55 p.m. on parks and recreation property northeast of the Bedford Public Schools bus garage off Douglas Road.

Mr. Brennan was driving east on a baseball diamond when he swerved to keep from hitting the field's backstop and both riders were thrown from the snowmobile.

The victims were wearing helmets, deputies said.
