Bowling Green State University has suspended an associate professor who was arrested this month for allegedly making threats against colleagues, a university spokesman said Sunday.

Bruno Ullrich, an associate professor of physics and astronomy, is suspended and barred from campus pending the results of an internal investigation, said spokesman Dave Kielmeyer.

BGSU police arrested Mr. Ullrich Feb. 5 on charges of aggravated menacing and inducing panic. The university said it will not comment further until the investigation is completed.

Mr. Ullrich arrived at BGSU in 2000 from the University of Tokyo. He holds undergraduate and doctorate degrees from the University of Vienna.

Mr. Ullrich did not immediately return an e-mail message seeking comment Sunday morning.
