Commitment, enthusiasm, versatility: All of these attributes describe Dennis Maas, a member of St. Ursula's faculty for 34 years.

His enthusiasm ranges from working with student activities such as student council (senior class moderator), to Princeton Model Congress, German exchange student coordinator, to Mock Trial, where he coached his team to the state finals.

His academic proficiency spans many areas as well, from foreign language to AP Human Geography and AP Government.

During his long tenure at SUA, Mr. Maas has spearheaded Outdoor Club activities such as white-water rafting and camping to performing as a Jonas Brother for SUA pep presentations.

His unbounded enthusiasm is infectious, reaching students, teachers, parents, and alumnae. From his early days as SUA's first track coach, he has watched women's athletics expand and is an avid supporter in the stands for all of the contests. He is a popular guest at alumnae gatherings; many of their daughters are now in his in classes.

“He is a role model, an enthusiastic teacher, and a loyal supporter of his colleagues.”
