Northwood man guilty of Bowling Green home burglary

BOWLING GREEN - One of three men charged with breaking into the home of a Bowling Green man and assaulting the occupant last year pleaded guilty yesterday to burglary and attempted felonious assault.

Thurman Lawniczak, 26, of Northwood is to be sentenced April 19 by Wood County Common Pleas Judge Reeve Kelsey.

He, along with Brett Rahe, 25, and Justin Happeny, 21, both of Pemberville, were charged with forcing their way into the South Church Street home of Wesley Punches, 21, on Feb. 21, 2009, and assaulting Mr. Punches.

Happeny pleaded guilty to burglary and aggravated assault and was sentenced Dec. 14 to 30 days in jail, two years community control, and 200 hours of community service. He was ordered to pay $4,003 in restitution and fined $500.

Mr. Rahe is scheduled for a pretrial hearing March 1.
