'God has a plan for me,' Noe says has
3/1/2010NELSONVILLE, Ohio - The only aspect of Thomas W. Noe's life that hasn't changed is this: He still says he's innocent, and if given a fair shake, he can prove it.
The former Toledo-area political power broker at the center of a scandal that brought down the Republican statewide ticket in 2006 says he is prepared to grow old in prison, but not before exhausting every option to convince a court that rather than stealing $13 million from the state, he made money for it.
In an exclusive Dispatch interview last week at the Hocking Correctional Facility in Nelsonville, Ohio, his first since being sentenced to 18 years after being convicted in 2006, Noe was both defiant and repentant, saying he has put his fate in God's hands.
"God has a plan for me, and what I'm going to do [is] I'm going to make the best of my time at Hocking," said Noe, dressed in prison blues and white tennis shoes.
