A second suspect in the Feb. 20 break-in that led to the shooting death of an intruder is in custody.

Jason L. Peace, 33, of 2038 Michigan St. was arrested Friday after an appearance in Toledo Municipal Court on charges stemming from a break-in last year. He is being held in the Lucas County jail without bond on one count each of breaking and entering, vandalism, and possessing criminal tools.

Mr. Peace is accused of stealing copper and wiring from the vacant Riverside Hospital on Nov. 22. He is the uncle of Christopher Childress, 22, who was shot and killed by the homeowner during the break-in at 811 Galena St. Police believe Mr. Peace was in the home during the break-in and charges are pending in that case.

Another suspect in the Galena Street break-in, Michael Brown, Jr., was arrested last week. The homeowner, Sedric Joplin, 40, was not charged.
