State to cut 5 civilian posts at Camp Perry

3/9/2010

PORT CLINTON — Five civilian positions with the Ohio National Guard at Camp Perry are at stake as the state works to shed $900,000 from its budget through layoffs.

The jobs are being eliminated as part of a statewide layoff affecting 21 employees, said Mark Wayda, spokesman for the Ohio Adjutant General's office. Fifteen other positions have already been eliminated through attrition.

The positions at Camp Perry are one in management and four custodial and skilled-trades workers. The state has 360 civilian employees. The layoffs do not affect National Guard members.
