Woman charged in kidnapping of daughter's boyfriend

The mother involved in the beating her daughter's teenage boyfriend has been charged in the crime.

Donna Sims, 40, is now charged with kidnapping and will face a judge Tuesday morning. She is being held in the Lucas County jail.

Police say Ms. Sims drove her sons to her daughter's home in the 500 block of Eastern Avenue to confront her boyfriend about 10:15 p.m. Friday. The brothers pointed a stolen handgun at Marshawn Murphy, 16, of central Toledo and beat him. He refused treatment for his injuries, police said.

Bond was set at $100,000 each Monday in Toledo Municipal Court for the brothers.

Alonzo Webb, 23, of 1217 South Ave. is charged with kidnapping, receiving stolen property, carrying a concealed weapon, and having a weapon under disability. Jamarlo Hornes, 19, of 538 Nebraska Ave. is charged with kidnapping, receiving stolen property, and carrying a concealed weapon.
