Metal milling company in Bryan plans to close

BRYAN — New Era Ohio LLC, a company that does metal milling, makes machined parts, and assembles components, told state regulators it will close its Williams County plant by September, idling 138 workers.

This week it sent a required notice about the closing to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. New Era said it intends to begin its layoffs on May 7 and finish by Sept. 30.

The company was formed in 2004 by a group of Bryan investors. Ingersoll Rand Co. had been its only customer, but last year canceled its contract.
