4 injured when ambulance, car collide in Maumee

Four people were hurt early Tuesday when an ambulance with a patient aboard collided with a car in Maumee on its way to St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee police said.

The patient, who was being transported by a Maumee EMS squad, did not appear to be hurt in the crash, police said.

Injured were three paramedics ion the squad and the car driver. The squad members were treated at St. Luke's Hospital, where their patient was also transported by another life squad. The car driver was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The crash occurred about 3:45 a.m. at Anthony Wayne Trail and Conant Street. The ambulance, with its lights and siren activated, was westbound on the Trail and the car was southbound on Conant when the crash occurred, police said.
