BOWLING GREEN - A Bowling Green woman died in a hospital late Monday night after being injured in a five-vehicle crash earlier that night on North Main Street in the city, authorities said.

Christa L. Bowen, 35, the driver of one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center about 11 p.m. Monday, Bowling Green police Lt. Tony Hetrick said.

Ms. Bowen, who was driving a car, had a green light when turning southbound onto North Main from a shopping plaza parking lot in the 1000 block about 7:40 p.m., at which time her car was struck in the right side by a southbound sport-utility vehicle that had run a red light, Lieutenant Hetrick said.

Lehman Myers Sr., 81, the driver of the SUV, was injured and was taken to Wood County Hospital, according to the crash report. A hospital spokesman Tuesday morning said she had no information about a person by that name.

The collision caused the Bowen car to rotate, striking two other vehicles while the SUV also struck another vehicle. Their occupants were not hurt.

There were no charges in the crash as of Tuesday. The case was forwarded for review by the county prosecutor's office, the lieutenant said.
